Our Story


Directors Jack Gordon-Crosby and Jessie Larsen founded OptiFleet on a shared vision to transform how New Zealand organisations approach the purchase, operation and sale of their motor vehicles.

To help our clients adopt a best practice sourcing approach in what is a complex and fast-changing industry, we have spent two years developing an online car sourcing platform, BestCar, the only tool of its kind allowing suppliers the length of the country to bid on our clients’ business.

We are constantly driving to innovate and improve our solutions with the aim of leading New Zealand fleets to the front of the class. Since 2011, our customers have purchased over $1.4 billion in new vehicles. We have now adapted our technology so that every New Zealander can have access to our platform that our businesses enjoy.

Jack led the vehicle division for one of New Zealand's biggest group-buying organisations from 1997 - 2011 and during this time took the business unit from transactional vehicle brokerage to a best-practice driven fleet sourcing partner for Government, corporate clients and SMEs. As our Managing Director OptiFleet, Jack's primary focus is on the delivery and development of our online vehicle sourcing services. As product and market specialists, his team are trained on how to test the true fit for purpose requirements of our clients and ensure they are connected with the products and suppliers who can fulfil these requirements. Jack's impeccable knowledge of the NZ motor vehicle industry, matched with his frank and enthusiastic demeanour have helped to establish his position as a trusted advisor to many of New Zealand's most prominent fleets.

Jessie Larsen  BSc
Director

Jessie began her career as an IT sales executive in London before moving to IT procurement on her return to New Zealand in 2002. From 2005 until 2011 she worked as a consultant for New Zealand's largest procurement service provider and during this time assisted a variety of public and private sector clients to optimise the management of their vehicle fleets, improving safety, productivity and profitability as a result. Jessie is known for her ability to deliver exceptional outcomes. Along with her infectious joie de vivre, this is one of the many reasons why clients come back time and again.

Holly Garner
GM – BestCar & Communications

Holly comes from a strong client service background and has an excellent grasp of procurement and fleet management disciplines. Her role prior to OptiFleet centered on helping clients to leverage their investment in buying-group membership fees - reducing their business risk and expenditure. As OptiFleet's Communications Manager, Holly's whole focus is on making it easy for your business to work with ours, and to keep you abreast of industry changes that may affect you. Holly is also responsible for the delivery of media and marketing communications for OptiFleet's upcoming innovations as we launch them. If you have any ideas for how we can improve our service to you, Holly would love to hear from you.

Nathan Dunn BiS
Head of Technology

Nathan leads the long term strategic vision for the BestCar software platform. Prior to joining the BestCar team Nathan had founded 6 start-up technology companies and brings with him a wealth of technical, functional and business skills. Nathan is also a well-known technology blogger and often a guest speaker on technology related subjects. An accomplished software engineer he started computer programming when he was just 14 years old and launched his first software company at the age of 18.
